Dressing With Kids: THE JIMMY SHIRT

happy july and hooray for summer break!

for this month’s post, oscar and i headed down to the shop to check out some summer goodies and one of the highlights was this awesome piece — the jimmy shirt. as i mentioned last month, i love a good staple piece that can be styled a bunch of ways and this linen shirt is no exception. a couple of the things we love most about this one: it’s lightweight and airy enough to be worn through the summer months but can easily be layered and worn through the fall and winter AND well, the charcoal grey is a perfect neutral that can be paired with any other colour.

oscar and i styled it a couple of ways.

dressed up. perfect for a summer wedding (or just a fun outing to your local airplane museum that happens to be almost right next door to the skinny’s new location!), we paired the jimmy with a cute bowtie (check out these cute striped and leather (!) options in the shop!) and coloured denim.

dressed down. who says linen shirts are just for dress up? a nice light layer while we went exploring in the woods, we paired the jimmy with the adventure club tank and the kinder shorts (yay pockets!) on a recent camping trip — comfy AND cute for the win.

it would also work well worn formally with a little blazer, or a little more casually over a vintage graphic band tee and jean shorts — a true staple piece for your little boy’s wardrobe!

enjoy the sunshine!
