hi friends, meet my new favourite shirt.
that out of the way first, happy spring! after what felt like the longest winter in history, the snow is almost all gone, and you know what that means, time for a spring wardrobe refresh! the carissa sweater shirt with its lightweight knit and just-the-right-amount-of-boho fringe is perfect for just about any event thrown your way this spring.
i’ve mostly been wearing mine around the house, crafting and snuggling with my kiddos, these last couple of weeks but it’s really such a versatile piece that can last through the seasons.
last week (when it was still snowing!) i was plenty cozy snuggling my girl in the carissa with my everyday winter staple black pants, and i can definitely see myself wearing it this way all through the fall and winter, perhaps even as a vest with a thin turtleneck or bodysuit for extra warmth and a pair of cute ankle boots.
for the next few months though, i’m happy to pretend winter doesn’t exist. i paired the sweater with my favourite denim cutoffs for an indoor popsicle party with my little guy and am so excited to bring this outfit outdoors with a pair of birkenstocks all spring and summer long. wouldn’t this be the perfect top for lounging on the hill at edmonton folk fest (or whatever your local summer music festival of choice may be!)?
whether it’s an evening of drinks on the patio with a skirt, denim jacket, and cute sneakers or date night out with a palazzo pants and heels, the possibilities for styling the carissa sweater shirt are endless and you better bet i’ll be trying them all! dressed up or down, this one is going to be in high rotation all year long.
